Burgers

2 pounds ground beef

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon pepper

Spinach Cream Cheese Stuffing

In a medium saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic; cook, stirring, for 7 to 10 minutes or until the onions are soft and translucent.

Add the spinach, water, and salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook until the spinach has wilted. Remove from heat and let cool.

While the spinach is cooling, melt the cream cheese in the top of a double boiler (or in a heatproof bowl set atop a pot of simmering water).

Purée the spinach in a food processor, then stir it into the melted cream cheese until well combined. Cover and refrigerate to set.

Burgers

Preheat grill to high.

In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Divide the mixture into 8 patties.

Spread the spinach cream cheese on 4 of the patties; sandwich the cream cheese with the remaining patties, squeezing together the edges to prevent the burgers from opening while cooking.

Place the burgers on the grill and sear on both sides for 2 to 3 minutes. Finish cooking the burgers over low heat.

Serve burgers on hamburger buns with your favourite toppings.
